Types of photos

The first photograph was taken in 1822, and since then photography has firmly entered our life, finding application in various areas of human life. Since the first picture appeared, the photograph, and the process of its creation, have received significant development. Various types of photographs and their genres are used in scientific and applied human activities, artistic and publicistic.
A bit of history
Returning to the history of the appearance of the photograph, it is impossible not to mention that the oldest of the surviving images was subsidized in 1826 and was made by J. Niepce. The process of exposure at that time lasted more than 8 hours. The very term “photography”, which comes from ancient Greek – light painting, appeared 13 years later. Since the appearance of the first black and white photographs, photography has evolved and improved thanks to inventors and scientists from different parts of the world. The desire to get a photo in color was realized in 1862 thanks to the British physicist J. Maxwell. From the beginning of the 20th century, photographs became available to ordinary people, when photographic plates patented by the Lumiere Brothers appeared on the market, allowing to receive color photographs. Such types of photographs as color and black-and-white since then and to this day actively coexist. The process of making a photo in the first half of the 20th century took considerable time, but that all changed in 1948, when the Palaroid company released the first camera that allows you to take snapshots.
The end of the twentieth century can be called the time of digital photography, which since 1990 (when Kodak released the first digital camera) has become an indispensable companion for people all over the world. It is the digital method of information transformation that allowed us to force out the film form of its display from the majority of applications.
Considering the peculiarities of more than a century of photography history, it is fashionable to single out its different types according to individual characteristics.
